First, addressing the question... Yes, there are certain aspects of California that I will miss. On the other hand, there are a number of things that I will not miss.... but that isn't what this is about. Here's some of the things that I'll miss, and I confess that I'm stealing some of these from the Queen:
- The fog coming over the mountains
- Walking to the Farmer's Market at the Ferry Building
- Easy access to the wine country
- The weather since it is pretty consistent and runs on the cooler side
- The fog wrapping the city in a cool cotton blanket
- My friends and their families
- LaBelle's Spa for massages and their comfy, comfy robes
- Tahoe, Santa Cruz, Half Moon Bay and the drives there
- KFog - radio station
- Friends and family coming to visit, but this way I'll have friends come East to visit me now
- My Primary Care Physician.... she is really great and I feel very comfortable with her
- My quilt store... I learned how to do long arm quilting there and they are really nice ladies
- Monterey Bay Aquarium, even though I only went there once
- All the great parks around and the great views
- Camping with friends
- Horseback riding in the Santa Cruz mountain area
- Taking the Ferry to Sausalito
- All the great restaurants
- Sitting in Sam's backyard by the fire drinking sparkling wine
- Medjool's, even though I haven't been there in quite some time
- Watching the fireworks and the Blue Angels from the roof of my apartment
- Calistoga and just resting there
I'm sure there are lots of things that I've forgotten, but those will just need to be things that I do/see when I come back and visit. And yes, I made it to a list of 22 for all you 22-ophiles. And I also wanted to note that I'll be leaving the general Bay area on 9/22... Coincidence?
Addendum:
A couple of things that I forgot from my initial list:
- Going and seeing my friend Abby and her circus perform
- Tartine Bakery - They have THE BEST croissants!!

About as much of a coincidence as my shower finally being planned for 8/22...they're obsessed! Then again, I'm becoming more partial to two these days.
The flight to visit will just be a little longer now, but we'll also get a two-fer going to visit you and the Queen!
What a great list... now you know exactly what you want to do when you go back for visits!
that is quite a list. But I'm sure there are exciting new things to find after you relocate!
you know, it's funny. As I read your list, I realized that the only thing that I actually miss from this list is #6 and #19. The others were enjoyable while available, but I don't "miss" them per se.
QB - I totally get what you are saying. I think that is probably going to be my attitude as well, and something that I'll look forward to when I come back to visit.
22-ophiles love you!!
Great list
Fabulous list. Of course I love that there are 22.
The bay is so cool. What a great set of memories you will take back to Texas with you!
I am afraid In N Out is missing from your list....
