Picture Challenge - January 5

So, I'll try and make this my last Leo picture for at least a week. This is him in my passenger seat as we are driving to the Animal Hospital Emergency Room. We woke up this morning and he had thrown up and was struggling to breathe. I cleaned up the vomit and found out that my normal vet is open on Saturdays from 8 until noon, so I jumped in the shower and got myself dressed so that I could call them right at 8 to see if we could come in. They were available at 8:10 and Leo and I were there no questions asked. The vet did a thorough checkup of him along with x-rays and blood work and since this just continues to happen and he was struggling to breathe they referred me to an Animal Hospital that is available to do testing tonight and equipped with an oxygen cage and nebulizer to try and help him breathe. I just left him there and my heart is breaking because I worry that I should have done it earlier and that he is in pain and scared and has to stay there overnight, possibly two nights. I really REALLY hope we can figure out what is wrong with my baby. I promise tomorrow will NOT be of Leo....

Picture Challenge - January 4

We had quite the snow here on Christmas, and yes, I'm a wee bit behind in posting about Leo's reaction to his first real snow. He and I had spent Christmas down at my folks' and while they had some flurries, there really wasn't anything that stuck. However, when we got back to Casa ABBA there was about 4 inches on the ground and my back patio was a sheet of ice. When we first arrived home and Leo went outside to do his bidness, he hit that sheet of ice and went flying across it into the snow. He then sprung across the snow with no idea what it was, landed back on the patio and sniffed at it (above picture), then refused to go out in it. Later in the evening when I knew he HAD to go, I literally picked his 40 pound butt up, steadied myself on the ice, and threw his out there blocking his way back into the house until he went. The next morning, and this is when I wish I had my camera at the ready, he went out into the snow and started racing around in it attacking it....sadly within a couple of hours with the temperatures rising and the sun hitting it the snow melted and turned the yard into one big muddy mess....

Picture Challenge - January 3

Okay, so this is more than one picture....but he is so pitiful and sweet. He was sick again and stayed home on the couch all day. Sadly, he is not good staying home alone for 9+ hours, as I found out when I returned home and had some cleaning to do. Ah well, at least he doesn't chew on anything and everything can be cleaned easily. Sigh, I just wish my baby would feel better. 

Picture Challenge - January 2

For Christmas, I bought myself a Tread Climber and had it assembled in my bedroom. Yes, I will paying this think off for the next umpteen years, but I have to say that every morning since I got it I bounce out of bed, put on my workout clothes and shoes, and get on this thing for a minimum of 30 minutes. I read while I'm walking, so I'm also getting some reading in, which is nice and Leo just lays on the bed and looks at me like I'm a damned fool.

January Challenge - Three Days Late...

Sara just challenged whomever to participate in a January posting challenge. The challenge is to post a picture a day for the month of January. I figure I would give it a try as I am very posting challenged as it is.... Is that too many uses of the work "challenge"?

Anyway, I know that I have been a bit remiss on posting regularly and it is because I just don't find my life interesting enough to put out here for the whole world to read, however, maybe forcing myself to put at least one picture each day this month out there will help.

Sadly, I'm already late on getting started with this and I have to confess that there may be days where there will be a clump of posts on one day....but I promise to try and post at least 31 pictures this month....
