Grandma Shoes

So, yes, I realize that I haven't blogged in well over a month (ok, going on two) and I apologize for that. I have gotten regular grief from Chief (and you know who you are) for not providing regular tall tales to all of my faithful readers. I will try and improve on my deliverables, but I make no promises.

In the meantime, today's blog is about my shoes that I wore today:

I forgot that actually had these shoes until I was looking around in the closet this morning trying to find the perfect pair of shoes to wear. I initally got these shoes to wear in Vegas last summer, but ended up not taking them, hence the tucking away in the closet and forgetting about them. For today, I needed the perfect pair of shoes that would be dressy, but springy as we have warmer weather, and since my pedicure from last week is still in good shape, I wanted to show of the toes (no, there will not be a picture of the actual feet). I first thought of a cute pair of black patent wedges with a peep toe, but they were actualy too high and threw the pants length off, so they wouldn't do. Next, was a pair of black sandals, but they were way too casual and would make me look schlumpy. When I actually remembered these shoes, I remembered them as being black and not gold, but I'm happy that they are gold (I must have been thinking of similar sandals that I also purchased for Vegas but ended up returning).

As I look at these shoes now, they remind me of my Grandma V. (and a little of my mom circa 1974 when she had the really cool frosted teased up hair). I remember my grandma having these metallic shoes that she would wear for special occasions. Grandma always wore Grasshoppers, or at least I always associate Grasshoppers with my grandma, although now that I look at their current line, they don't remind me so much of Grandma. And, the reason I will not show you a picture of my feet in my perfect spring shoes is because my feet and ankles also remind me of Grandma V, which sadly was not one of her better features.

Yay for an ABBA post :)

My toenails are still making me smile every time I take off my shoes. It's spring time up in here!

Gold is a good color for spring.
