I am a big fan of the television show The Office...or at I have been, but not so much any more.
I realize that I am probably the only person on the face of the earth that still watches shows on the night that they air (and I watch commercials) because I don't have TiVo or DVR or any other such fancy stuff. So don't read this if you think it might interrupt your plans for future show watching.
I have decided that The Office has jumped the shark. I don't like the new boss. I don't like the new story line with Michael. I don't like the story line of how Jim is now low man on the totem pole. I don't like all the sucking up that is being done. I don't like it I don't like it I don't like it!!!
What happened to the Office Olympics? What happened to the funny story lines like The Dundees? What happened? What happened? What happened?
Oh yeah...the fact that they sandwiched a REALLY bad show Parks and Recreation between two really bad episodes of The Office.
Thursday night line up SUCKS!!!

Haven't Posted
I know I haven't posted in awhile and I just tried to get into my viewer, but for some reason my BB Bold is failing me. So, I'll write a bit.
I'm currently sitting in Sam's backyard as she changes before we go out to dinner at John's Grill (mentioned in the book The Maltese Falcon). I'm in the same spot that last week I sat in and had my shoes catch fire. Yes, my shoes started to burn. Sam has this very nice metal fire pit that I was sitting next to enjoying yummy dinner a some wine. I had my feet propped up under the fire not really thinking anything would occur. At one point, though, I started to smell rubber burning. My thought "well, that's odd, but oh well." Then it started to get stronger and I thought "hmm, maybe I should investigate." So I put my feet down and sat up straight and that is when I noticed the smoke coming off the toes of my shoes. I hopped up, watching that no wine was spilled, and stomped my own feet to stop the burning. Sadly, this was not done in time to save the treads, but oh well, they were my old pair of walking shoes.
So, I have now had my feet on fire and my hair on fire...I wonder what will go up next. Could this be a sign that I am destined to be a victim of a mysterious human combustion case where all they will find of me is a pile of ash and a foot?

- Make sure everything is in proper working order before you begin working.
- Always take your lunch break on time and allow plenty of time for digestion before returning to work.
- Analyze a task multiple times before leaping into action.
- Never take on more than you think you can possibly handle.
- Never go long periods without checking your e-mail.

And your personal list to create: List 10 great ideas that came to you while procrastinating. (If you can't name 10, procrastinate until you can.)

The Way My Mind Works
I've been having a conversation with a friend of mine and I've come to the realization that not everybody has an internal dialogue like I have.
We were discussing how she could come up with ideas for her blog in relation to her business that she is starting on Etsy (On Gossamer Wings). She makes fairy wings for costumes, and they are really quite amazing. I was recommending that she come up with a background story and personality profile for each of the "faeries" that would wear the particular set of wings. See, I do that when I'm making a quilt. I have the conversation in my head of how I would give the quilt to a person and their reaction and then how it becomes an heirloom and is passed down through the family, etc. etc. So, when I asked her what she thinks about when she is creating her artwork, she told me she thinks about the next design. She sees things in shapes and colors and I see things in words.
It never dawned on me that not everybody thinks in words, and I realize that is very small-minded of me because now that I think about that, how do people who can't read think of things....
Well, that led us to talk about other things that we do while we are in our creative mode and we both admit that we will put movies on that we are very familiar with so that we can follow along with the dialogue without actually watching the moving pictures. And I commented that that worked fine for me until I tried to listen to "Castaway" and it was very tough to not stop and watch the movie because there isn't a whole lot of dialogue.
And that brought us back to the fact that I will have full conversations and arguments in my head with friends and family and they will never even know that I was mad at them because I worked it all out. And I have come to the conclusion that this is why when I broke up with my last boyfriend it came as such a shock to him because I had already argued out all the points and explained to him why I wasn't happy...I just did it in my own head and not actually with him.
Ah well, I guess someday I'll have to stop living so much in my head...even though for the most part it is my happy place.
